You'll see the tall wrought iron gate in front of you leading into the Halifax Public Gardens, a designated National Historic Site. Here you will find formal garden maintaining the style of the Victorian age.

Design of a Victorian Garden. As you walk through the grounds you’ll notice the formality of design of a Victorian garden. Richard Power, a horticulturist and landscape gardener from Ireland was given the task of designing these public gardens.

Horticultural Hall. As you move on you'll see the oldest building in the park, that was also used as a cold cellar, and across from that is the 130 year old Bandstand!
