Maritime Museum of the Atlantic
Maritime Museum, an exhaustve collection of marine displays including refuse from the sinking of the Titanic in 1912 and the horrific Halifax Explosion of 1917, the largest man-made explosion in the world before the atomic age. Early Navy practices embodied in gruesome exhibits plus a trove of exhibits on shipbuilding techniques and The Bluenose, the world's fastest fishing schooner built in Lunenburg, about 150 km southwest of Halifax and memorialized with an image on the Canadian dime.
