We were 10 minutes late to our tour with Alex, who kindly waited for us to begin. We spent about an hour in each Chinatown and Kensington, through which Alex was a reservoir of knowledge and great suggestions of where to eat with our gluten dietary restrictions. I love Kensington, and I might not have even found it, much less understood the culture and history of the market, without the tour. Would highly recommend!

Tim, our guide was quite knowledgeable and friendly. Slow pace which was perfect 😀 he went above and behond. Ended up being a private tour which made the experience even better!

The tour was fun and interesting and glad I got the chance to see some neighborhoods in the city I might not otherwise have visited. Lots of cool places to eat wish I could have tried them all. We did a bunch of snacking at a few stops though. Mike was a great guide who knew so much. And there were about 5 of us all together on the tour. It’s great when you can meet up with strangers but it feels like spending the day with new friends.

My boyfriend and I took this trip as a weekend date/getting to know our city better trip (We're both familiar with the city). Mike was our tour guide, and was funny, personable, and knowledgeable. He did warn us that he never shut up, but considering I wasn't in the mood to chatter and was in the mood to learn, he was the perfect tour guide. I'm a history buff, and he still managed to teach me something about the city, which was exactly what I was in the mood for. The one piece of advice I would give is bring hand sanitizer if you're squeamish - lots of snacking is about to happen.

This was booked as part of a larger group tour so was unsure of what to expect. Jason was a brilliant host; warm, friendly and incredibly knowledgeable, he was able to provide us with an excellent historical and contemporary insight into the Kensington Market area. We experienced China Town, a cool little coffee shop and some funky street art. The fluffy show that fell throughout the tour only added to the atmosphere. This is a must for people looking to explore the local side of Toronto.

We did both the Kensington Market and St. Lawrence Market tours with Jason. This will sound like a broken record but I will say it anyway, it is an outstanding use of your time in Toronto. Jason loves his job and is very knowledgeable. Please don’t plan on eating before or after the tour of the St. Lawrence Market. Excellent intro into Canadian food. I will say that, despite National Geographic’s claim, its not the best marketplace. But is is worth the tour. If I had to chose between the tours of Kensington Market (a neighborhood, not a market) or St. Lawrence Market, I would chose the Kensington Market tour. Not really a food tour (you will sample at a couple of places) but a very interesting walk through a fascinating neighborhood.

Awesome guide and delicious (lots of them) snacks along the way. Our day had rain but didn't interfere in the least.

Jason was a friendly, funny and equally knowledgable guide. Unlike some walking tours where you feel the guide may be reciting a script, Jason was extremely genuine and passionate about the neighbourhoods. This made the whole experience extremely memorable. We had many stops along the route and Jason would tell us about moments of history, facts about the area & made this tour so much more than just your average walking tour. We also stopped for coffees and snacks & after his recommendation of a bagel store located on Kensington Market we were so impressed we returned the following day to enjoy our breakfast there. If you want a fulfilling & educational experience that feels just as informative as it is fun then look no further than to book a tour with Urban Adventures. Thoroughly enjoyed by all & we shall not hesitate to recommend the tour in the future. Thank you Jason & Urban Adventures. Jazmine, Evee & Richard - Audley Travel

Jason was an amazing and knowledgeable guide. Visiting Kensington Market was highly recommended by co-workers. The two neighborhoods was so much fun and having a guide who lived not only in the Toronto area but had lived in/around these areas themselves made the tour feel so much more personal. I learned so much about the area and the people who live and lived here. Would definitely recommend others take the tour.

We really enjoyed this tour and were surprised at the scope of subjects dealt with expertly by our guide, Brie. From start to end, we loved Brie's description of the formation and development of this diverse area. We particularly enjoyed her explanation of the wonderful street art and wall murals which so populate these areas. This was a new and fascinating subject for us. We enjoyed the ethnic foods we sampled and the company of a diverse group of tour members. Highly recommended.

In addition to a great tour, Mike handled a pretty major philosophical difference with incredible tact and good humor. As a bonus, we managed to find a needed replacement men’s jacket for $20 at one of the vintage clothes stores that Mike pointed us to! Very fun hunting!

My boyfriend and I visited Toronto the other weekend for the first time. It was his first time in Canada and neither of us knew much about the country, even though we live in the US. Tim was a wealth of knowledge about Toronto and Canada in general - and when I say a wealth, I mean it seemed like there was just about nothing he didn't know! It felt less like a tour and more like we were being guided around the city by a good friend. I would definitely recommend this tour and Tim to anyone who visits Toronto!

Loved the tour, our guide was awesome. We got to see and hear about some of the great murals in Chine town and Kensington Market. Tried some pastries, cheese curds and had some coffee. It was nice having a small group, almost like having a friend show you the city. Thank you.

We did this tour in August on a hot day. Sam was our tour guide and she was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Our first rest was a Chinese bakery with some of the most interesting and yummy foods like egg yolk tart. We sat outside and enjoyed our treats while Sam talked to us (treats included in tour). Our next rest stop was at Jimmy’s coffee (once again drinks included in our tour). We sat outside on the back patio and chatted but the rest stop was 25 minutes which was way too long to my liking. Maybe because it was a hot day the rests were long but I wanted to keep going and the adult kids with us started getting bored. The adult kids did love that Sam taught us about urban graffiti and I enjoyed that as well.

The weather was with us for a wonderful walk and talk by our clear speaking leader. Highly recommended. The Chinese bakery was unique and lots of fun.

Sam did a wonderful job sharing the history about the city. Enjoyed the tour very much! Highly recommend this tour if you would like to get an up close look at Kensington Market and Chinatown.

We thoroughly enjoyed the tour, such a variety and a really good historical walk around the community. Julia was very accommodating and a great representative.

Tim had helpful history and information. This tour can be done better though. Not enough seen for the time spent. Add other stops!

I highly recommend this tour. Tim was a wealth of information. Not only did this 70 year old enjoy, but the teenage granddaughter did as well.

We took this tour on a cool and breezy weekday and were the only two present. Our guide Tim gave us the private tour as if he was leading a dozen, offering intricate detail of the history and current status of Chinatown and Kensington Market. Tim was a wealth of information and had solid answers to all of our questions. Toronto is a big city and if you're going to be in one general area for the first time then a guided tour offers the best insight. I highly recommend this one.

We’ve visited Toronto many times and were looking for something else to do apart from the CN tower and usual museums. This tour caught our eye. Our guide Alex is a local and had great knowledge of the history and politics of the area. He showed us some good street art, a place for a tailored suit, and shared some amazing food places. We really appreciated his ability to shift with our interests and whatever happened to be going by at the moment! Take this trip, you won’t be disappointed. Although THe area is older I believe that guides can find accessible routes.

We had the privilege of experiencing the Kensington Walking Tour with Mike on our last day in Toronto. Mike’s knowledge of Canada, Toronto, the Kensington community and its people was outstanding - from those who are homeless to the local business owners. He truly knows and understands this community, and his motivation to share all these aspects of Toronto is driven by his deep love of the city. On the tour we had wonderful coffee, local poutine, cheese curds, and were introduced to local business owners who are engaged in social and political activism to protect genuine community relationships and belonging. Mike knows and talks to everyone and genuinely cares for the community. We are both Doctors of Education from Australia and found hIs sense of community humbling. This was truly an amazing experience not to be missed. Thank you, Mike, SO much. You are terrific! Cheers Paul & Sarah

We booked a Sunday morning tour. We ended up being the only two people to show up for the tour. Jason was a trooper, and off we go on the tour. Jason is very knowledgeable and entertaining. We had a great adventure. Thank you for a good time.
